AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

Where is 5 coming from?
Sapphire XTX MBA we have 500 plus
Sapphire Nitro XTX we had 9

The lot had sold out within 15 minutes. Demand is real, very real.

Just look in the thread, there is way more than 5 stating order shipped on our forum alone. :)

Well the good news from that means Nvidia will need to drop 4080 or/and 4090 prices now or/and release a 4080ti ;)

I'm surprised they're selling so well tbh given how important power efficiency and consumption is for folks on here though....

Some people have just had enough of Jensen and his mid life crisis leather jacket

Well it should have been pretty obvious from my post I'm talking about primarily the people who got a 3080 especially for MSRP, 3070 and below owners have plenty of options, even second hand old gen to choose from. Meanwhile what does a 3080 owner have to choose from?
Thats not what your post said though is it?
You originally said the 7900xt/xtx was not a viable upgrade path for anyone on ampere.

We then dug into that a bit and agreed that people on ampere were actually already upgrading to RDNA2 nevermind RDNA3.

If you want a £650-£800 upgrade AMD and Nvidia have made it clear you are not getting it (in the short term at least).

Maybe someone will sell you a 3090ti or is the RT on that GPU not enough these days?

In this comparison video the clocks of the 7900XTX are low in Cyberpunk, Watch dogs Legion and F1 22 in RT mode and even in raster mode in F1 22. This may explain why the results don't seem good across the board. I wonder if the big reviewers had this issue too.

And like I said, I should have been more specific.... Do you really think that a 3050 ("ampere") owner has no upgrade options for less than 1k if you think I literally meant "ampere" as a whole?

A 3090ti is not a worthwhile upgrade, 16/17% on average improvement is not what I call a good upgrade especially if it would cost me £300/400 outlay.

And going forward as we have seen from darktide, Witcher 3 nextgen, any games using remix (which looks like it will be a lot given what modders are doing with not even having access to remix yet).... no ampere RT will not be enough for my needs when gaming 3440x1440 @175hz unless I'm happy to reduce settings or/and use lower presets of dlss, which I rather not do, ultimately in terms of RT only performance going forward, I would want at least 4080 RT levels but I'm not paying 1+k for it, sooner pay for a 4090 than get a 4080

is it me or is the 7900xtx stuttering in most games?

Not just you, you can see it in the frame latency too, 7900 is not as flat and has a few spike, must need more vram @TNA :D Presuming frame latency won't matter anymore either though :p

I'm surprised at guardians performance with RT, that game has relatively light RT where even rDNA 2 did alright in it, definitely some driver work to be done and hopefully not a hardware limitation.

The moment news comes in that the stock of AMD cards is wiped out and demand is higher than expected you can't help saying the first thing on your mind... Better Nvidia prices

Not even slightly surprised :p
