AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

And like I said, I should have been more specific.... Do you really think that a 3050 ("ampere") owner has no upgrade options for less than 1k if you think I literally meant "ampere" as a whole?
No I don't think that, but do you think your specific example above highlights why the blanket statements you tried to make are bit foolish?
A 3090ti is not a worthwhile upgrade, 16/17% on average improvement is not what I call a good upgrade especially if it would cost me £300/400 outlay.
Guess you will have to settle for the perfomance you get with your current gpu.

And going forward as we have seen from darktide, Witcher 3 nextgen, any games using remix (which looks like it will be a lot given what modders are doing with not even having access to remix yet).... no ampere RT will not be enough for my needs when gaming 3440x1440 @175hz unless I'm happy to reduce settings or/and use lower presets of dlss, which I rather not do, ultimately in terms of RT only performance going forward, I would want at least 4080 RT levels but I'm not paying 1+k for it, sooner pay for a 4090 than get a 4080
You might be interested in the 12GB 4070 when it is relaunched?. Or maybe if these AMD gpus start to sell nvidia will drop the prices of the 4080 for you.

What is up with the RT score in Speedway?

The 7900 XT is barely much faster than my OC'd 6900 XT in that. Could be drivers??

The moment news comes in that the stock of AMD cards is wiped out and demand is higher than expected you can't help saying the first thing on your mind... Better Nvidia prices

Not even slightly surprised :p

In all seriousness though, if nvidia do it, amd will also drop prices :) If they can sort out the power consumption/efficiency issues, weird/random performance depending on game and maybe even improve RT by another 5-10%, I could be tempted by a 7900xtx @ £700/800

And again, like I said, 2/3 (?) times now, I should have been specific as clearly a 3050 (again, "ampere") owner has many upgrade options for <£1k. If you continue to insist on me meaning to refer to every "ampere" gpu then that is your choosing.

Given I stated I have no interest in going to a 3090ti, why on earth would I have any interest in going to a 4080 12/4070ti which will match or slightly beat a 3090ti  Are you one of these people who just loves to argue and make a mountain out of a molehill for the sake of it?

Yes you should have been more specific, but here we are .

It was only a suggestion. It's not as if you will miss out on much over the next year or so anyway. The 3080 will still get along with a few settings lowered.

Are you one of these people who just loves to argue and make a mountain out of a molehill for the sake of it?
Where is the argument? We agreed the 6900xt was a great deal for anyone that doesn't care about RT and has an ampere gpu 3070 or less. Most of my replies were trying to help you find a cheaper nvidia gpu.

I've seen some impressive overclocking results from some of the AIB cards, most hitting 3.1ghz and closes the gap to the 4090.
