AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

So, just how much is retailer price gouging, poor availability & the Scalper scum coming out to play, going to ruin the release of these cards?

I fully expect that while it looks okish on paper, the bad stock on AMD website + the AIB models to bring the price of the xtx closer to $1299, at least for the first 6 months.

Can you even buy GPU's directly from AMD in the UK?

I was thinking that.

If its AIB cards only, then they're generally priced higher. So by the time it goes through the various channels, with the pound weak against the dollar, the retailer adding their fat to the top, we probably won't be that far off 4090 pricing :D

End of the day Overclockers did end up getting reference cards in the end (took a while) as did another UK etailer. With any luck the reference cards will be available from the starting point this time around.

Well, Asus have just unveiled their 7900 card, so there is the first one to cost the same as a 4090!

Yep, I fell for one of these trolls and got a thread ban.
Sure. Feel free to check my posts about the 4xxx launch as well. The paranoia in AMD fanboys is real.

4090 is great, price is ****.
4xxx cards except the 4090 are garbage both pricewise and performance wise. Even the 4080 16gb would barely enter xx70 territory.

Now that we got that settled, amd are only offering ****** solutions.

Anything else ?

Makes a very good point in the video. There shouldn't be a $100 difference between the 7900XTX and 7900XT, there are pretty big differences between the two.

The 7900XT would be dead on arrival if you know stock of the 7900XTX wouldn't sell out.

From amd website: 7900XTX is up to 70% faster than 6950xt and 7900XT up to 50% faster than 6900xt.

This means the 7900XTX is up to 30% faster than the 7900XT. Why the F would anyone buy the XT card, the $899 price is too high it doesn't make sense
