Hello guys
big help needed last night my artic cooler freezer dropped of my motherboard a asus A8n-e the black bracket with the lugs on has broke two lugs of can i buy a bracket from somewhere or what is the alternative i need the pc for my work as a freelance photographer help help please thanks

It might be worth getting in contact with said companies and see if they will replace the motherboard or pay for a replacement. It will depend on if they were liable though - which they probably were not. It might be worth a shot at contacting Asus and asking them if they would be willing to send you a new bracket.

I'm pretty sure you need that bracket to hold the heatsink in place. You might be able to bide it over by finding a practical way of holding the heatsink on top with a lot of thermal paste.

Any chance of a quick photograph to see the damage for myself?

You used to be able to get heats sinks which bolted through the motherboard.

I used to have a Swiftech MCX462 which mouted like this & the Alpha PAL 8045 did too

does mean you have wip out the motherboard to fit it.

not sure if youll bea able to pick one up new though!

:o :o :o
Man i'm having a bad morning, thought you were talking Socket A for some reason.

Neeeeeed Coooffffffffffeeeeeee
does antone know if Stackbucks deliver?

I bought a Thermaltake Blue ORB II the other week.

That bolts straight into where the two screws are either side of the retention bracket

think i need a stiff drink got to get pc up and running today looking grim though did think of buying a b grade board and taking bracket off getting desperate now

Try popping to a local computer shop and see if they have any spare brackets.

B-grade sounds a plan if all else fails.
