The Newly revived Athlon (This is the Athlon of Old, not the Athlon II or Athlon 64) and Sempron will utilize the modern FS1b Socket Interface. It will also support USB 3.0, Sata 6G/s and support DX 11.2. Not only that but we have received confirmation that it will support Mantle as well. The TDP of ALL 4 APUs listed will be 25W. Their target market are HTPC Desktops.

Why drag the legendary brand through the mud like this? It's like Lotus starting to sell kiddy cars and calling them Elans.

Meh, bring back Thunderbird or the trusty AXIA Y, then we can talk. Those were the good days for AMD when they had some of the most clockable CPU's in the market

Thoroughbred 1700+ was the king 1.4GHz clockable to 2.4Ghz with a mahoosive block of copper and loads of volts.

Oh yes, I remember those days even went to the local computer fair to try and hand pick a decent stepping to go under the lb of copper fins.

I bought three OEM at £41 each from OCUK in Fenton. I managed to burn one but had two at decent for the time overclocks. There was a keen interest in steppings and even the colour sheen on top of the die was rated by some. I think my motherboard had a vcore limit of 1.8V whereas some went to 2.1V or more.

Wat when was this made possible, you never know what they could do with this, personally i think they should stay With AMxx socket types but hey
