AMD Risen 9950x3d

Thanks guys, i was looking to replace my aged i7 7700k along with a nice motherboard and RAM for my flight simulator as that is all i mainly use my PC for and I've been told and informed on various social media groups that AMD is the one to go for but some comments suggest to not get the 9950X3D but I'm not sure why. Isn't it up to the job of flight simulation or are there other reasons I'm not aware of.
