Gibbo said he sold 2000 rx480 cards in 24 hours. Those GTX1070 sales are over a couple of weeks.I doubt it, Gibbo said in the other thread that he has sold (and shipped) 350 of just one type (Zotac amp extreme) of 1070! 350 of ONE type of 1070.
The RX480 has sold well yes but then so has the 1070 and 1080 (and likely at higher mark ups/profit margins).
I think it is highly likely that Nvidia are the opposite of worried about the RX480

would have thought there would have been far far more RX480 sales compared to 1070's (during the same few days after each one was released) because of the low price, and potential to run highest settings on most games at 1080/60fps give or take.
The average gamer doesn't really need a 1070, not that they're bad by any means but it's a higher end part and appeals to a narrower audience.
Pointless trying to fight them with facts and figures Cat, they will just drag you down to their level of stupidity and beat you with experience...
Anyhow who cares how many cards are sold tbh, as long as the owners are happy with their purchases and they suit their needs, job done imho.
It pretty much shows that they set all cards a little rich on the voltage. There was a slide talking about how the finfet has less variation from the best to worst compared to planar transistors. And that they set the voltage being used to help with the worst since that variation is far smaller compared to the range of variation for planar transistors.
They more than likely set the voltage a little rich for all cards due to this.
God AMD fanbois are really sad. See how they treat him when he posts pictures of his case? Not everyone can have a super fancy case, and maybe, just maybe, there's something wrong with the RX480. It could be something else causing the issue, however they'll never even entertain the fact that it could be an AMD card causing the problem. Pathetic.
I don't know why they use 8 and 8 pin connectors, the card only needs +/- from the psu so why not use heavy duty 2 pin connectors(gold bullet/deans etc) like we use in RC applications for the battery connections, they can carry extremely high amperage and you could then just use 2 wires using silicone wire...I have never understood that.

The quality of the case has nothing to do with it, those folks are being ridiculous. What is however a problem it seems is system hygiene.
If you look at the pics full size and zoom in you can see the motherboard in particular has began deteriorating due to what ever has gone in there.
It looks to me like it has has some liquid spilled on it at some point.
It also looks like it was allowed to get really dusty (with added hair) and given a quick whip round, possibly before adding new card or perhaps before it's first public appearance photoshoot?
