I am not trying to jump on the bandwagon
As there are plenty of posts online about the RX480 killing motherboards

A motherboard i have has experienced DEATH

Got the card in a DELL T3500 installed the drivers and the card will not run properly displaying error 43
After a coupple of driver wipes using driver cleaner
Still not worcking
Got the card on the second Pci Express slot full X16 and DEATH occurs
Blinking orange power button suggesting hardware problems
Blinking light number 2 suggesting Pci Express ishew

Wille the motherbord is old and somebody might blame me for manhandeling the motherbord
Dead as dead, reseting the bios or removing the bios battery did nothing

At the moment it is in a Dell PowerEdge T20 with an exthernal PSU to get the card running
It is working like a dream
Works just fine on my Z97 as well
But it will be up to the gods if this motherbord will melt or not
Will keep you up to date with the progress of my Motherbord KILLING RX480

Well budget gaming involves gaming on old hardware
Nevertheless for the heck of it i did some testing on this card in regards to undervolting
I have been measuring the power draw on the Pci Express pin using a second power supply a meater and Unigine Valley
The lowest voltage the card runs without crashing is 1.005V original being 1.1V
On 1Volt driver crashed once
Temperature went from 86 to 79 degrees
Attempted to overclock wille undervolted no chance
Power consumption stock voltage about 60W-78W on Pci Express plug only
Undervolted 51W-70W on Pci Express plug only

This was a nice test
Will overclock the card and see if it kills the motherbord
But tomorrow

The motherboard will display the same error code with or without any GPU
CPU is heating up so that part works
That Dell T3500 will be hitting the bin after i am satisfied with the RX480
The RX 480 is still working in the Dell t20 overclocked just ok

The weird problem is that windows was reporting ERROR 43
And the card was not running properly
The death was after swaping the Pci Express slot to attempt to get it working
Power draw at bootup was 170-190W
Within reason

The card will be getting a new home with new components
the Xeon X5672 was sufficient for the job so the system was still used, or was in use

Back to the story the error code 43 is a concern as it might be as other people have noted that the card might not be compatible with some older hardware
