Let the hype train begin!
I don't trust AMD's claims after them saying that the 480 will offer 980 performance. Never gain.
Could this not have gone in any of the other speculation threads.
The link in the OP contains no information what so ever.
Just to help out the people at GameNGuide the RX490 won't be Vega, it will be a Polaris based card of some sort. The clue is in the naming RX4** lol.

Say what - did they really say this?

Where did they say that? Most of the people after the AMD event on June 1st thought came away with the impression that performance would lie somewhere between the 970 and 980. Or are you talking about $200 card matching last gens $500 card? That was purely in relation to VR.
I have read various articles saying that it claimed to have 980 performance, with no mention of VR. What sources did you read?
Well you must have been reading the wrong articles as vr was pretty much the entire point of this card.
may feature Vega architecture
It will most-likely feature a 256-bit memory
may be manufactured specially for VR Gaming and 4K
may beat NVIDIA's GTX 1080
may also make it quite pricey
may be released later this year, probably in November
may sport a computing power of 9,830 GFLOPS
its launch may get delayed
