Hope this is the right place for this.

Anyone here who uses RX 550 under Linux and got it working properly?

I'm running Xubuntu 16.04.4, GPU kinda works, I get display and stuff shows up fine, but beyond that, it's not being detected so I can't really use it for anything more/demanding.

Tried installing AMDGPU-PRO driver, didn't really help, tried different versions, nothing helped.

So before I return it, is there anything else I can try?

Also, I don't use Windows, so please don't suggest that I install Windows.

Some of the mining fellas can probably help you here, 550 has become quite a popular mining card. Ask the same question in the crypto sub forum and im sure you will get some help. Graphics is mostly gamers I would say so a drop in the linux forum might be sensible as well.

What Kernel/Driver?Mesa are you using ? Should be using the oss AMDGPU driver

do
Code:
lspci -nnk | grep -i vga -A3
in a console if unsure and post the output.

Code:
glxinfo | grep "Core Profile"

will tell you your Mesa version

If the display shows up what is not being detected ?

AMDGPU-pro is not worth the time tbh.

Not a *buntu fan tbh so not really clued up on xbuntu.

Can't check these terminal commands with RX 550 atm, swapped it out for RX 560 and it's working as it should.

Turns out RX 550 isn't supported (or well supported) under Linux, time to return it.
