In seriousness though - what do these new "Mining" cards do that the old RX didn't?
why 4 and 8 gig vRAm for mining though? What am I missing?
the faster the Vram the better.
also some people are missing that these cards have no video out ports, which ruins the resale value. At least with mining on graphics cards you can sell it after Ethereum crashes and recoup some money. These will be worthless as you cant do anything with them? Unless its a second card in crossfire i guess.
Display Outputs: 1x DVI, 2x HDMI, 2x DisplayPort
Asus has video outs according to its specs as well.
People modify the BIOS on regular cards anyway, on a reference RX480 8GB you can just dump your BIOS, copy and paste the 1750MHz RAM timings over the 2000MHZ timings and flash it back to get an additional 3-4MH/s.
Here you go: https://steemit.com/ethereum/@yogibear/mine-more-ethereum-with-rx470-rx480-bios-modsAny reliable guide to this that you could link, please? I have a couple launch day 8gb rx 480s and would love to squeeze a bit more mh out of them.
from what I can gather ''Mining edition'' = less warranty.. the Mh numbers look the same to me
Plus a lack of display ports. So selling these on won't be easy after the crash, At least not to gamer's.
Any estimates when GPU mining will become unprofitable for the latest mining craze?

It pretty much is now, very large crash in the crypto market in the last week, it may rebound or it may not but I wouldn't bother investing now unless you have money to burn.
