AMD Ryzen 5 1600 50 degrees at idle

So I currently have an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 with a stock cooler and it's running 50 degrees at idle?

Is this normal? I haven't done any overclocking and my case has 2 front case fans and 1 exhaust fan.

Your CPU isn't at idle as you can see clearly in hwinfo the package is using 45w right now. At proper idle total package power should be below 20w and the individual cores using ~0.2w power.

However, even at such low load the temps should be lower even with the stock cooler. So take a look at whether it is seated properly and the fan is spinning up appropriately. The fan speed you can see on hwinfo as well further down. Check in bios what the fan profile looks like.
Sorry PUBG was open in background but like i said at idle 50-55 degrees celsius.

Go and purchase some thermal compound first (Thermal Grizzly Kryonault is a good place to start), meanwhile check if you've tightened up your CPU cooler correctly first.

For your reference, my 1700 @3.8/1.375v runs idle at 35C in a NH-D15 @450rpm.
Ordered some thanks for the suggestion, also ordered an kraken x52 but won't be here for another few days. Hopefully a new cooler will sort the problem.

Many boards are incorrectly reporting temps. I need sensemi skew disabled in order for me to get correct temps otherwise my idle reports as 9 degrees and we know that's not right.
What are the load temps like? If you cannot wait for fancy stuff to arrive go to any franchise retailer and get some cheap stuff for the time being.
So i just downloaded Aida64 to stress test it and it's indicating 42 degrees idle ~15 degrees less then HWinfo and Ryzen Master and 64 degrees under load. HWinfo and Ryzen Master indicating 80-87 degrees under load. Confusing!
