AMD Ryzen 5700G

Also interested in the new APUs however the last I read is these will be released for OEM builds first, could be some time before they are readily available.

I think it makes a lot of sense focusing these chips the OEMs. With the processor and graphics defined, then that also specifies the PSU... drives and memory can be added later, but there's just fewer degrees of freedom, less for enthusiast/customer builders to work with.

As far as I'm aware the 4000 series APUs were never released outside of being OEM only so maybe this is the way AMD will go on the 5000 series especially with 7nm silicon being so tight with already a lot of products on the market.

I’m going to struggle to find a link but I did read an article which indicated an intention to sell these beyond just OEM eventually as opposed to how the 4000 series progressed. Some glimmer of hope at least!

People say it is hard to source the OEM 4650G etc. but it really isn't. So if AMD go OEM only then assuming there is actual stock out there you'll be able to buy one, just not from the usual box shifters, and scalpers.

Can you source one easily directly from the UK though?
Some people don't want to import stuff especially post Brexit with the risk of paying duty, VAT and a handling charge.
I wonder what BIOS support is like?
