I tried all the way up to 1.5VDD/VDDQ Voltage?

I tried all the way up to 1.5VDD/VDDQ Voltage?
Ram is rated at 8200 @1,45v, I’d set 1.55v and relaxed all the timings.overclocked to 8000 or is it an 8000 rated ram stick? I managed to get https://www.gskill.com/product/165/390/1723430443/F5-8000J3848H16GX2-TZ5NR running on it fine with just expo profile enabled and nothing else. But the board was overkill for me so I returned and swapped it for an msi tomahawk.
Does the 9800X3D has a Dual 3D Cache Die?
I tried all the way up to 1.5
I’ve reverted back to my 6200/26 setup now and have begun the process of dropping voltages, I’ll revisit 8000 when ASUS sorts their bios out.Umm. Maybe post the timings and I’ll see if I can see anything obvious.
The same motherboard hit 8800 https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-98...8800-asus-rog-crosshair-x870e-hero-nitropath/I’ve reverted back to my 6200/26 setup now and have begun the process of dropping voltages, I’ll revisit 8000 when ASUS sorts their bios out.
Overnight stability test. Still dialling back voltages etc.
Shader comp is the type of load that can 100% a CPU but 94C seems a bit toasty. Seeing 150W+ power draw during Stalker 2 shader comp and 78C using arctic freezer ii 420 hereFinally got round to installing mine and giving a quick test, for anyone that uses air cooling, what sort of temps are you setting?
Using a Deepcool AK400 it seems to idle around 40-42c, under load I ran a 30 min cinebench test and it got to 86 at the most, Timespy doesn’t seem to push the temp and in what games I’ve tested it sits at about mid 60s, only thing that concerned me was loading up Stalker 2 and during the shader compilation it was hitting 94c
Should I be concerned or is it a one off with a seemingly not very well optimised game?
Not bad, you must have a decent chip. I don't have the full screenshot to hand atm, but the best I've achieved so far is...5.5ghz at -30 CO 1x scaler
Yeah I think mine was running the around the same voltage. Was that score from a clean/minimal install? Not bad, you must have a decent chip. I don't have the full screenshot to hand atm, but the best I've achieved so far is...
That was running a 5.575Ghz at 1.21v. CB23 is really hard on these CPUs, so I don't plan to go any higher on voltages on this bench.
It was running on Win 11. Windows doesn't really make any difference. What will help most is low temperatures and setting CB23 priority to realtime. That may net you another 100+ points or so.Yeah I think mine was running the around the same voltage. Was that score from a clean/minimal install?
I'd be careful with using 1.35v on a manual OC as not only is that quite high but protections will be disabled. It doesn’t really bother me because the performance is perfectly good with PBO, 10x and +200 but is there any reason why I can’t manually overclock this at all?
I’ve tried 5.55 and 5.5ghz at 1.35v but both crash as soon as they’re stressed in Cinebench etc.
I’m aware that overclocking is harder without eclk, but it seems strange that I can’t overclock at all.
I’ve got tight ram and a seemingly strong IMC, so don’t think the chip is bad.

Hmmm Black Friday maybe a good time to invest in an AIOShader comp is the type of load that can 100% a CPU but 94C seems a bit toasty. Seeing 150W+ power draw during Stalker 2 shader comp and 78C using arctic freezer ii 420 here
So probs fine if its just that smaller air tower cooler tbf.
CB23 is tough to run for the 9800X3D, which is an odd thing to say but for some reason its true.It doesn’t really bother me because the performance is perfectly good with PBO, 10x and +200 but is there any reason why I can’t manually overclock this at all?
