Had no problems with my CPU on stress tests using CB23 and playing COD for few hours

But the new Fortnite is causing my system to crash

Playing games the CPU temp is 73 and CB23 stress test after 15 mins is 88 so doesn't appear to be a temp issue

As a quick check CB might be okay but to stress the cpu I’d use something else like prime95, OCCT and the like

@LtMatt only CP where SMT on helps since it scales?

I think it’s more the fact that with SMT Off cpu usage is like 90%+with 8 cores
and no threads. Games that have lower cpu utilisation probably will benefit.

redid my loop to add in my 9800x3d.. using an AC Core1 block and QDC.. quick light overclock PBO enabled, +200, -40 scaler at x10. Haven't started playing with memory timings.. not sure how much there is to play with, with a 64gb kit

Let the CPU run in before i start delidding it.

Do you enable the X3D Turbo in the bios or leave that disabled?

I've ran a few tests and with it enabled the scores are significantly lower.

BO6 or Warzone? I get maybe 10 minutes into a game on BR and it crashes, Starfield and CB24 are no isssues. Haven't tested further but now will. Disabled OC and played Warzone for 45 mins no issues.

BO6 is totally fine. Fortnite crashes 8(

I'll take the OC off but its so small

Manual OC. 5.4Ghz @ 1.2v 85c.. shame anything higher crashes in CB.. have yet to try 1.23v. May have more luck when i delid

Makes sense. Same reason ecores help on Intel. Ideal setup is HT off and ecores on for gaming including cp.

Thanks for the reply, my 9800x3d with same PBO +200mhz, -30 scaler at 10x will only hit clocks of 5,415.2mhz.

Perhaps I've not been lucky on the silicone lottery.

Seems stable running a CB24 for 10 mins+.

Temps max out at 82c on CB24.

Idle is mid 30c and gaming mid 50c.

Starfield on ultra, 1440p.

Definitely not a photoshop my friend, and I don't think that's my best score yet either.

Here's my next best score from the same day but an earlier run.

I'll be firing up for some new runs next week, where I'll be targeting 69K.

I've gone for a 2x24 so it's a bit more future proof for capacity but def 32gb is for max perf.

Yeah, there are some profiles, but I've never used them as I do it all myself.

BCLK not changed and disabled spread spectrum. Worked. Running 5,425mhz constant.
