Quick question - if moving from a 7800X3D to 9800X3D, should I update the AMD chipset drivers or don't I need to bother?
Always update for new CPUs. Chipset, BIOS, Windows, etc.
no what monitoring software are you using? Is anyone experiencing problems with core temp on the x870 and 9800x3d? Mine is constantly reporting a core frequency of 1666mhz no matter the load, it seems to be reporting temperatures correctly

Yep running the latest version, also running HWinfo. I have always ran them both without problems or conflictsonly core temp and nothing else? if so have you tried updating it
its not really recommended to run more than 1 monitoring software at the same time, just because it has worked doesn't mean it cant cause conflicts, what does hwinfo say? its most likely fine and just being reported wrong especially if hwinfo is reporting correctly. if it was running at the lower speeds you'd notice sluggish behaviourYep running the latest version, also running HWinfo. Pat will never live that one down, it will go down with overclockers dream in tech folklore.Good god, Intel is so far behind in the rearview mirror, AMD will need some high-powered binoculars to see them
