I like you. You use any excuse to upgrade. You could just run your memory at stock and then your excuse would fall apart. For the hoarde!!!!!I've preordered a 9800x3d mainly because my 5900x is getting flakey. Its rebooting sometimes when idle. I blame my memory overclock, so now I will just run the new CPU at stock.
A week or so in - it feels great for emails and web browsing so far
Currently downloading Dragon Age Origins and Disney Dreamlight Valley to give it a real test!! Ok so not really, but hopefully I will still be gaming in blissful ignorance on it in 6 or 7 years which was my main theory behind getting it
Hey I ain’t judging bro. I am just kidding with you. Like come January time when it extra windy and cold I will switch to the 9950x3d goodness that’s my excuse I got lined up anyways. The 9800x3d runs too cool for our winter months here.Actually I ran the memory @3800MT/s and then default xmp, now it’s unstable at default xmp. 3800MT/s needed a little extra voltage on some CPU/memory setting and that's what I blame.
Lack of supply vs high demandWhats with all the price rises on the 9800X3D...£519 now
Yeah, I'm hoping the pice will drop by the end of January.Whats with all the price rises on the 9800X3D...£519 now
Sticks getting hot? FE card was blowing hot air all over mine and cooking the chips had to replace the set in the end B die seems to be particularly susceptibleActually I ran the memory @3800MT/s and then default xmp, now its unstable at default xmp. 3800MT/s needed a little extra voltage on some CPU/memory setting and that's what I blame.
I'm watercooled GPU/CPU so unlikely.Sticks getting hot? FE card was blowing hot air all over mine and cooking the chips had to replace the set in the end B die seems to be particularly susceptible
I'm using it but I'm not sure what it was like before as I updated to this bios first.Anyone else updated to AGESA 1.2.0.2b yet? Supposed to improve memory latency and overall performance a little.
my system was playing up with random crashes switched from xpm to auto looks pretty damn similar to me but now its not crashed once, which has cooled my upgrade urgeActually I ran the memory @3800MT/s and then default xmp, now its unstable at default xmp. 3800MT/s needed a little extra voltage on some CPU/memory setting and that's what I blame.
I am using the combo am5 as well I have no idea what the differences areI'm using it but I'm not sure what it was like before as I updated to this bios first.
There us a newer bios but people are having issues so I haven't bothered. Does anyone know the difference between AGESA ComboAM5 1.2.0.2b vs AGESA PI-1.2.02b ?
I am on balanced. Never experienced any issues so far. What power plan is everyone using?
I was using balanced, but experiencing a bit of hitching a stuttering on desktop opening programs etc. Switching to high performance is much smoother.
