AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I think it's a hard sell at 7950x3d pricing personally, it'll have to really hit hard in terms of performance to justify £500+ on an 8 core cpu.
Depends what you’re using it for. In the evenings I turn PC on, blast whatever game for a few hours then go to bed and wake up bleary eyed and turn my laptop on for work again. Repeat.

For me, I’m interested in what performance is like in games not how many cores it’s got but I take your point if you do other things on your PC.

ordered a b650 motherboard and ram plus a PSU from amazon to come today... motherboard and ram "lost in transit" apparently. I swear my local courier keeps stealing parcels. 15 missing deliveries in the last few years or so. Annoyingly I had to put the passcode in to get the PSU, (didn't even realise it was the same code for all 3) so half expecting him to turn around and claim it was delivered and I signed for them with the passcode.
Not happy, especially as amazon won;t even look into it for 3 days. so I probably won't get any parts before the 9800x3d.

Same. for me I care nothing for other tasks. just gaming in the evening and maybe weekends. number of cores means nothing to me.

I must admit I was always 8 cores to match the console, but using a 7600x I have been incredibly impressed (playing at 4k). Runs so low power (65w) and boosts to 5.4ghz.

Shout out to my ex (processor) you really were the man.

I am currently using a 3700x, so core wise I won't even be getting an upgrade which feels weird lol. I just know it will smooth out the stuttering I get in some modern games. great CPU that is feeling it's age at times.

If I was doing other things on top of gaming I would probably look at other CPU's, but gaming is all I care about... gaming and watching videos at 4k. (even my toaster can do that though tbh. lol)

if it as good as we all hoping, doubt they will give free game ( we can hope thou). if amd gets this right, be great seller.

Unless I'm wrong I thought its only the 9800 that will be released this week and the 9950 will be released early next year

I think all X3D parts are being announced/launched at 2pm GMT on Wednesday, then the 9800X3D goes on sale 24 hours later.

Nothing new performance wise, obviously people are hoping both cores having vcache is going to bump up performance but until actually tested, who knows.

Yeah it will great if you get the best of both worlds, more cores and great gaming performance, it's going to be hard for me to resist the 9800X3D in the meantime..

Likely why they are going to release it on its own first, because people are going to swarm them on release. Id be genuinely surprised if retailers arent sold out on launch day.

Then a new months down the line... BAM.... INSANE NEW MULTI CORE PRODUCT
