AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I grabbed a non typical board, so not really representative, but I wanted a 10G onboard so I could WOL on it and use it for partial file storage whilst also experiementing with AI/ML. So went with the Asus Proart X870E. Had zero issues thus far. But it's price is rather steep if you're just doing typical gamer or home user stuff.

I got an Asrock x870e Nova board for mine with some Kingston ram.
Solid board,no problems at all.
Good to hear - just received my Nova (first Asrock board for me). Seems great in terms of features and price against the competition. Looking forward to getting it all up and running with the 9800X3D but still dependent on getting hold of a GPU on Thursday!

For RAM, I went with - "CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL30 AMD EXPO Intel XMP iCUE Compatible Computer Memory – Grey (CMK64GX5M2B6000Z30)"

Did some research beforehand - above not listed on QVL but found a fair few who had used it without issue.

This was my recent build, no issues -

I'm running a 9800x3d on a B650E with 64GB 6000CL30 ram and its running sweet! 200+ PBO, -30 CO 114SP. Impressed with the cpu after having Intel for last few builds.

I got this kit from OcuK and it’s very good temp wise and quality wise, so if you want a good bin 64GB DR kit, this is the one to get.

Just for interest what's a good temp for DDR5 please ? My kit at 6000 CL30 tweaked settings sits at about 53 in stress tests (max I've seen 58)

Only currently have 1 120mm fan in and one out on my 4000d case though atm so airflow not optimized

tREFI is at 55k

My F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR - stick nearest Cpu max at 50 degrees, the second one 47 degrees. I presume this is because the second one has the front case fans blowing directly onto it and it blocks the cool air blowing onto the first one.

I bought:-

Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 6200C40 2x16GB kit which was Hynix M Die, open box £58.
Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 7000C32 2x16GB kit which was Hynix A Die, new £93.

Patriot Viper Venom all speed ratings use 10 layer PCB, all have unlocked PMIC.

The M die for 6000C28 needed 1.4V, the A die 1.35V. 6200C28 M die 1.45V, A die 1.4V. IIRC the M die wasn't doing 6400C28, C30 was best it did, the A die 6400C28 1.45V.

All cases 1:1 MEMCLK:UCLK, GDM On, PD Off, MCR On, FCLK 2133MHz.

Sold the M die, providing my test profiles and netted ~£72.

The A die I've also done some testing at 8000MT/s 2:1, C36 1.45V.

To me, 6000C30, 6400C32, 6800C34 are pretty much same bin of RAM, discounting "silicon to silicon" variance, etc.

Hence I opted for 7000C32, which is ~9.14ns.
