AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Thank you mate.

Another quick question, would it be recommended to format windows if I'm going from a 7950x to a 9800x3d? Also, is there anything special I need to do to get the most out of it, I remember when it first came out I found a video about changing some settings in either BIOS or windows, but I can't for the life of me find it now. Thanks
I know the 9800X3D got it's own AGESA update. I think you need to update your BIOS prior to installing the 9800X3D. I used the flash-back feature on the motherboard I bought since I didn't have another AM5 CPU and it went smoothly with just the 24 pin plugged into the motherboard.

without reading the whole thread, what’s the latest on supply for these?
I bought mine from OcUK yesterday, it's on sale atm - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-...ocket-am5-processor-retail-pro-amd-03517.html

I bought one today too as an upgrade over my 7800x3d. I had absolutely no plans whatsoever to do this, then when I was about to nod off last night I saw a video comparing the two in Tarkov (I’m getting a bit of an addiction) so one was delivered today.

I’m so weak at resisting tech purchases in January.

You’ll want to use 64GB of memory for Tarkov too. Noticeably better FPS/Lows with that vs 32.

Motherboard, for max RAM speed and compatibility. Better than Hero.

Search for ROG CROSSHAIR X870E APEX and visit official site to check it out, don't think I can link as it's got links to competitors there.
Ok thanks. is that a brand new board? or has it been released before?

edit: brand new.

What are the PCI share lanes saying?

It's identical to the Hero for PCI-E lanes.

It'll be the motherboard with guaranteed compatibility with the fastest/lowest latency EXPO kits out of the box and also the best for manually overclocking and tuning your RAM speed.

Though be aware it only has 2 DIMM slots.

Looks like its coming down in price. Wondering whats the deal? i mean why ? Im considering building a new tower mid February and thinking is this the best price im going to get ?

Oh God damnit  Ok so I’ll get some memory too, you know your stuff, what would you recommend to pair with it if you don’t mind helping me? No RGB please and it needs to fit under the front fan of a DH-15S.
