Disappointed in the efficiently tbh the 7800X3D is the better purchase imo. I prefer quiet components. But also gaming average is erm so close it's not even with bothering with. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d/20.html

7800X3D vs 9800X3D the power is doubled in most benchmarks lol

I'm beginning to wonder about their testing methodology :)

Easy win, really good uplift from the already brilliant 7800x3d , yeah it uses bit more power but with nice increase in performance

Rip Intel the higher core parts still to arrive

Looking forward to seeing how teh 5080/90 affects these benchies at 4K
Yeh, will be interesting. The 4090 was my first gpu that bottlenecks started to creep in at 4k with a last gen top cpu (5950x), nothing major but enough that the enthusiast in me had to upgrade to a 7950x3d at the time :D

At my resolution (3440x1440) I don't see any reason still to upgrade from my 5800x3d considering a platform change is needed or is that just me ?

I think im better off putting money into a 5080/5090 upgrade ?

I wonder how 4k gaming is effected by DLSS?
I've seen benchmarks where proper SAM helps with an XTX combo, reason I switched to a 7800X3D from my 13700k (plus it was a very good deal, didn't cost me much to switch over for a superior gaming chip).

Also nice to see AMD not to screw up a launch for a change :D

5090 release will further push Ryzen9000X3D in front of everything else. Awesome CPU, GG AMD.

I don't think Intel will equal this performance until Nova Lake in 2026, meaning it's about to get very boring for CPU's in general!
