I'm thinking of getting one of these. My PC is really old hat.

To try and future proof as much as is possible, is there an X870E motherboard with dedicated 16 lane PCIE 5.0 that would also support 2x PCIE 5.0 SSDs and has full Wifi 7?

I was looking at the AsRock Nova Wifi, but then I saw it didn't really have full Wifi support. Something about lacking 320mhz mode.

They either go up drastically price wise, or don't have the feature set you want.

The gigabyte auris has a good WiFi chip, but the pcie 5 support your after isn't there (which I find odd for an x870e board, as the specs of this are more like a b850.

Then the MSI mpg carbon WiFi, gives you everything you want and more, but is a fair chunk more money

All of the MSI X870E and non E boards have a Qualcomm Wifi 7 module that fully supports the 320mhz band.

Specs of every motherboard in this Google spread sheet: (scroll right to see the quirks of each board). With USB 4 also eating PCI-E lanes, just about all of them have compromises in one way or another.

It's all if buts and maybes right now, the 9800X3D may be anywhere from £399 to £549, its price and availability will determine where the 7800x3d price lands I'd guess.

Will be interesting time in the 2nd hand market for those moving from other variants of X3D as the value they can sell at will be all over the place

Thanks, that is very comprehensive.

To be honest it looks like the only motherboard that does it would be the MSI Godlike which is

1) 3x what I am willing to pay
2) Not even available in this country.

None of them will support x2 PCIE 5.0 SSD's. You will have to go for the older X670E for that. Reason being AMD are mandating USB4 on all X870/E chipsets which uses the lanes that were being used for a 2nd NVME slot on the older chipset.

You might get a board saying it has a 2nd slot through the chipset, but the chipset only connects to the CPU through a 4x PCIE 4.0 connection so it will never do those speeds.

I think I will pick one up when it launches.

Any idea what time stock will go live in the UK, like 9am some US timezone or something so like 2pm UK?

The Godlike seems to, by disabling USB 4.0. if you populate a specific slot.
