AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Can you please test with PT on (all other settings maxed out), 1080p w/ DLSS Ultra Performance in this scene?

I might have misunderstood your post earlier, did you want me to walk around the big fishes?

I found the area and snapped a few screenshots. Generally if walking round that circle FPS were in the 130+ or so.

I can probably record a video if you want. This was at 1080P, with Path tracing, every setting maxed out but using DLSS Ultra Performance, frame gen off and ray reconstruction on. Crowd high.

Looks garbage! :p

I forgot to update my overlay, just realised. Not using a 9950X but a 9800X3D. I'll change that now in case i do more screenshots or a video.

I'm opting to upgrade from my 10600K, it is just not cutting it any more for me. I'll stick with my 3080 to go with the 9800X3D until I can afford the 50 series, although that will need a new PSU for me too on top of things I think.

First timer here got my order in at 14:11 so really hope I'm on Santas list for next week. I am completing my white build with a platform upgrade to a gigabyte b650e Aorus elite ax ice, vengeance EXPO 6000 cl30. Will go into my white Corsair 4000d with my 3080ti FE and RM 850 white. Going to keep my white AK620 cooler as it looks awesome and has kept my 9900k at 5ghz all core at 60-70c during gaming sessions. Will upgrade my nvme to a gen 5 in the future and probs my GPU to a 6080 whenever that comes around maybe a 5080 next year if I'm tempted. I've done so much research really hoping I've made the right decisions! Congrats to everyone who secured a chip today!

I've been looking at the Auros Elite ice, let me know what you think. I'm worried it doesn't look white, more almost ice blue.

Thanks, that's great! Comfortably above 120 fps, it's actually so much better than the ADL/5K 3D gen, which themselves were quite good performers. For me it's a throwback to this test I did on my i7 6800K (but will add R5 7600 results soon; didn't manage to snag a 9800X3D so it will do for now):

Another first timer here and absolute newbie at anything PC as I haven't had a computer for over a decade just relied on ipads etc. I got a 9800x3d and wanna get a 5090 but don't wanna waste money on a graphics card until I get one if I don't have to.

I've been told that the CPU comes with some sort of graphics card? If so will I need to do anything in the settings and can I expect to play games reasonably using it? They suggested I get a geforce subscription until I got one

The igpu on the 9800x3D is quite weak. Modern games I’d say are out of the question.

What about stuff like fortnite? Or on Geforce now? Id like to explore some PC games but willing to wait if need be. I'm probably wrong as I'm not sure how it works but I thought by streaming the games it wouldn't be so resource intensive? Would i need a GPU then? If so any suggestions on one that does the job but isn't extortionate if it's only gonna have 1-2 months use

I wouldn't bet on picking up a 5090 at launch ... there's likely to be huge demand / limited supply.

The integrated GPU is only just enough for 2d games at 1080p. Even Hollow Knight at 4k was low fps. Doom 2016 wasn't possible. I didn't try fortnite.

Geforce now streaming will probably be OK, but I've never tried it personally.

For a temporary GPU, a 4060 or 7600 will be fine at 1080p/1440p. You also won't lose much value in absolute terms when you upgrade (even if they somehow halve in price, that's only £100).

Why not just grab a 4070S for now, play some games and see how you get on, you might decide that you’re happy and don’t need to go and drop what will likely be 2k on 5090 or if you do decide you want a 5090 then you can always sell the card for not much less than you paid for it.

Has anyone reviewed this with settings that people actually use? 1440p, 4k ultra settings etc? The 1080p score is impressive but largely meaningless.
I'm somewhat surprised at this comment given the registration date of your account.

If a review is to showcase the difference between different offerings in one part of the system, why would you limit the range of performance of that part through another component?
