AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I didn't. I thought it was releasing on Saturday xD (and yes, mine is ordered.)

You thought 7th November (the day that AMD said the 9000X3Ds would be available then 2 weeks in advance, with the 9800X3D being announced on 31st October as the chip available)… was a Saturday? :p

did we know it was 2pm? I did all my research and review watching in the morning and decided to pull the trigger. I had a day off so guess I got lucky

If you were following the forum closely, then yes. Prior releases have gone live at this time and it’s the same time as launch in the US.

Given the appetite for 'real' upgrades where we see noticeable performance boosts - the 5000GPU series are going to be brutal, that will see the biggest boosts, I can't imagine the prices on these, they can charge anything & everyone will pay it :(
So far given the specs leaks I can only see one card being faster than what's currently been available for the past 2 years.

Thanks, that's great! Comfortably above 120 fps, it's actually so much better than the ADL/5K 3D gen, which themselves were quite good performers. For me it's a throwback to this test I did on my i7 6800K (but will add R5 7600 results soon; didn't manage to snag a 9800X3D so it will do for now):

I’ll try to grab a video walking round that area soon
And tag you in when it’s done.
Here you go.

Yup :( :( I saw it was due "7th" ... looked at my pc's calendar but I must have clicked Dec - saw 7th is a Saturday and went "Oh, cool -- I'll order it Saturday then" :(

You needed to quadruple check and verify with several other people. It was the only way.

It was full on battle stations at my desk… I’d be surprised (and impressed) if anyone got their order in before me :o :p

So after **** shipping my 9800X3D on thursday and DPD ****ing it up yesterday at their sorting centre....and OCUK not shipping the rest of my build on Thursday even though I ordered well before the cut off, I've had confirmation from DPD that I will be getting both this evening! Hurray.

Unfortunately they wont be arriving until approx 9pm bang in the middle of my D&D game, so prob have to build it tomorrow but we'll get there eventually god damn it!

How true unfortunately. It's why I skipped the 2000 series and kept my 1080Ti at the time, the 3080 was a good deal again, and then skipped the 4000 series for the same reason, but this time I'm just gonna have to suck it up I think as I don't see another generational price drop this time.

So OCuk saying sold out now for 9800x3d? and gibbo said they had ordered 10,000...that's all 10k sold? 1 a person? or you think some people getting friends to buy and the ever growing number being relisted elsewhere at higher prices...that's a lot of pent up demand for a £450 cpu....if that's true, I'm expecting the 5090 to fly off shelves
