AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Happened to me earlier as well in another comment. So both of us couldn't tell the other was joking. Whoops. Lol.
Joking aside, I think it's if you try to add any sort of emoticon that isn't in the forum 'smiley' gallery, it strips it out when you save/post a comment but doesn't tell you that it's done it.

Very interesting review, testing X3D + non X3D CPUs at a fixed clock, same memory config:

The 9800X3D is a very power efficient CPU in games, at a lower clock (4.8Ghz).

Even in a "stock to stock" comparison, i.e. with slightly higher CPU and memory clock rates, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D are fifteen percent apart in the course reduced to seven games.

You can improve efficiency whilst running stock clocks or even with +200Hz PBO core overclock by running all core negative curve optimiser, assuming stability. In the 61K Dawntrail run I did earlier CPU power draw was around 60W.

True, but that depends on the silicon lottery.

From what I’ve gleaned by speaking to users in various Forums and Discord servers, seems like pretty much everyone can run -25 or higher negative curve optimiser all core. The cores are definitely much weaker clock wise than the ones on my 9950X. Yet tune for tune, the 9800X3D is like 20% faster in Cyberpunk 1080P Low benchmark.

I reduced voltage to 1.4350 still at 6400 mhz. it gave 7 errors within 20 seconds of running testmem 5.. memory 39.5 degrees.
Then I reduced voltage to 1.4250 at 6200 mhz 40 minutes testmem 5 without errors. max 56 degrees

At 56 degrees, you’re probably right on the edge of it erroring due to temp. But let it run testmem overnight and see if it errors. If it doesn’t, you’re good.

Sounds like you need to improve case airflow or put a fan over the ram if you want to push it more.

UPDATE

Hi there

We are expecting a batch of 108 units tomorrow, this should cover all those who ordered around 2pm, don't call for queue positions as CS can no longer provide that info.
A further batch of 78 units is due Wednesday.

We are then hopeful another batch of 300-400 units will be us by end of this week. This will conclude our first wave of stock.

Our second wave of stock is expected end of next week but we are still seeking confirmation.

Does anyone know what service the default Royal Mail £3.99 is? It says 5 days but not sure they even offer that? I was a pre-2pm order so wondering if I might be lucky with it arriving this week...

My i5-9600K is clinging on for dear life. All of the other parts are sitting next to my desk, taunting me.
