AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I see OCUK also have stopped the pre order sales on the 9800X3D now and it says "notify me" to let you know when its back in stock.

These must have still been selling like mad for them to stop the pre orders on them now

Yeah Gibbo said 10,000 had been ordered. Surely it couldn't be that high the units sold? Maybe just been cautious in case they can't secure the full amount?

Hmmm, I was looking to do a complete system upgrade (from a 5800x with RTX3080) when the RTX50 series hopefully releases early next year. Looking at the results, there doesn't appear to be much in it at the resolutions I game at (4K and UW1440p) even with a 4090, and by the look of the rumoured 50 series specs, only the 5090 will be faster than a 4090, and I doubt I'll be buying one of those.

Hopefully the 7800x3d will drop near £300 again by then, which will make it a better bang for buck than a £450 9800x3d for 4K gaming.

This looks a good bump in some games. Interesting that HWU saw slightly bigger gains than other reviews showed, though AMD we're very clear that the increase wasn't across the board. It's also a better all-rounder than the previous x800X3Ds, though still aimed squarely at gamers.

I'm happy to sit with my 5800X3D for now, a new graphics card is my priority, depending on what pricing is like next gen (I'm not hopeful).

Could well be as the eta to get the processors to customers will be getting further and further in to December and not knowing what's arriving does not help.

It’s on Overclockers FB that there shipment is not until early 2025 now.

Guru3D has, but their game selection is getting quite old now.

Every generation I think it's worth upgrading my 9900k, but then I see benchmarks like those and think "Meh" (I game at 4k) - It seems to barely make a difference!

They've ordered 10,000 - not they GOT 10,000 :p I suspect their first batch was around 500 given that at one point Gibbo said they'd had 1200 orders in and weren't expecting to fulfil all of those till December

If this is true, could OCUK set aside a 9800x3D and a 5090 for me? :D
I really need to upgrade from my 3700x + Vega64.

Vega64 isn't even getting driver updates anymore, and I'm still just running 1080p60 atm -- but planning on upgrading to ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMG (1440p 240Hz) monitors or something similar... Will see what pops up around Black Friday.
Full build incl monitors is easily looking like £5k

Yeah if we are going by units they had in it sounds like it was about 10 lol. I'm surprised they cut it off so early. Sure the graphic card ques were going well over a year at the rate stock was being received.

Running 12th gen 12600k guessing the 9800X3D would work as a good upgrade Mainly play overwatch 2, plus some single player game on a 3070
was looking at staying with intel but everywhere i read they don't seem to recommend the new chips
