Hi

Im been thinking of building a new pc with a AMD Ryzen 7 series processor but found 8 series are cheaper and faster and provide onboard graphics.

How much onboard ram does graphics have and are the graphics good on pc games?

Do you plug the display port into onboard graphics for it to work?

Thanks David

You can set the desired about of shared RAM. I have a laptop with Ryzen graphics, it's not bad, I played Terminator 2 resistance on the laptop and usually play War Thunder. Just don't expect 100fps in high.

Apparently the next gen AMD IGPU will be very good, can't recall the name, Halo or something like that.

Graphic port option will depends on the motherboard, mine has HDMI but ideally if you're considering using on die CPU graphics you want a motherboard with Displayport.

Good is relative, but realistically they're not great. You're looking at 1080p Low/Medium on anything recent. They can play most older games (prior to 1st gen Ryzen) fine.

Here's a video with the same GPU used in the 8700G.

A "proper" graphics card like the RX 6600 is still way better than integrated.

They're cheaper, but rarely faster. Which CPUs are you comparing exactly?

and provide onboard graphics
All 7000 and 9000 CPUs (except -F models, like the 7500F or 8400F) have graphics, but the 8000 CPUs have better graphics.

Yes.
