Hi

Im thinking of building a new pc in next year or so when price of DDR5 ram and Nveme hardrives drop in price.

Mortherboard - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...d-am5-b850-atx-motherboard-mot-msi-05941.html

Processor - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-...ocket-am5-processor-retail-pro-amd-02677.html

If the CPU has onboard graphics, I wont need to buy the GFX card and should I just simply plug my display port from monitor into the motherboard slot at the back.

I wont be playing games just for internet use, saves me from buying a £200 £300 graphics card.

Thanks David :D

Yup.

They're fine for basic use. The graphics is the same as that in RDNA2 (RX 6000 series).

The graphics in the G models, e.g. 8600G, is better, based on RDNA3 (RX 7000 series). They're suitable for light gaming.

Personally, I would get a 250K instead for this build, if multithreaded CPU performance is required for anything. If not, you can get a Ryzen 7400 (don't buy -F models, no graphics) for just over £100 which is a nice entry point to AM5.

If it’s use is just for browsing and general internet then you could pick up a notebook which would easily handle that for less than the cost of the cpu and board you have listed.

Tbh I’d just pick up a dell refurb for £300-£400 and be done with it. It something from the Dell outlet.

People's mileage may vary but I bought some stuff from Dell clearance/outlet end of last year / early this year and had good results.

One that is slightly insane - I bought a QBM1250 to use as a game server - it was still in original sealed packaging aside from the power lead had been opened - everything else was completely new and untouched - Intel 265 65 watt, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVME and additional stuff like the USB4 module for £600 - at the time they retailed for over £1200 and currently with the RAM and storage price increases that is a £2500 spec!
