Revenue rose 40 percent to $1.65 billion, AMD said today in a statement. That compares with the $1.55 billion average of estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Profit, minus certain items, was 11 cents a share. Analysts projected 6 cents.

...

The company’s second-quarter net loss narrowed to $43 million, or 6 cents a share, from $355 million, or 49 cents, a year earlier.

Seems like AMD is strong back into the game, although the majority of profit comes from the CPU section rather than the gfx. Still, it's good news to see the company back on its feet as that can only mean more innovation and better products to compete with Intel on the marketplace.

I'm suprised most of the revenue is from CPU's. AMD have got a good mainstream range but their GPU range seems a lot stronger. I see mostly 5xxx's in everyones siggie.

Graphics cards are a specialist item. Most of that figure will be CPUs in off the shelf PCs.
