AMD slashes prices and introduces X2 5200+

I'm guessing this has only been announced recently so it will take time to filter down to the consumer.

shame only am2 but 2mb lc cache! Jeez!

lol
i read the 2mb l2 cache bit as 1mb of l2 cache per core - dual core cpu, therefore in total 2mb l2 cache... not 2mb per core (if thats what you meant)

With all the hype about these high power CPU's,

My question is whats the use of so much CPU power?

Do we need that much power?

someone please give me a understandable answer!!!

Sweet, my Dad is going to NY this month, so I can get an X2 4200+ for £99, compared to £130~ over here.

Do US components work in UK machines? Is there such a thing as a "UK" Machine?

Should work fine, no such thing as UK machines, but is such thing as US, Europe power supplies
