AMD Socket A 'Pins'

Socket A (also known as Socket 462) is the CPU socket used for AMD processors ranging from the Athlon Thunderbird to the Athlon XP/MP 3200+, and AMD budget processors including the Duron and Sempron. The socket is a zero insertion force pin grid array type with 453 pins (nine pins are blocked in the socket to prevent accidental insertion of Socket 370 CPUs, hence the number 462). The front side bus frequencies supported for the AMD Athlon XP and Sempron are 133 MHz, 166 MHz, and 200 MHz.

Or u can just count them

Many thanks for the info, so I need to look for CPU coolers that support socket 462 pins.
As i can only seem to find socket 478 coolers :(
I take it that support for my CPU is no longer !

Hey there, you have the same cpu as me ;) . Anyway, there are some zalman coolers on ocuk that support socket A, but they are out of stock atm I think :( .

I just had a quick look on OcUK for a socket A cooler, and the only one i found was: Titan Vanessa-L TTC-NK25TB/SC (RB) Heatpipe Cooling Fan here
But i think the gigabyte G-Power Pro will also fit here but best to check.

Many thanks for the info, I did not relise how big the cooolers are !
I will have to measure very carefully to see if there is enough room between CPU, PSU, and casing.

Many thanks
