Hi there

First of all congratulations to Kimi for winning his first 2018 season F1 race and I think it has been 113 races since he last had a win.

So what has this got to do with AMD? Well AMD's HQ is based in Santa Clara USA and AMD's Austin Texas office was at one time the head of operations.

As AMD sponsor Ferrari and as its such a big event that the Iceman has won his first 2018 race, I've decided we should celebrate this momentous occasion for 24hr with some crazy prices on AMD processors and to show you again some of the epic graphics cards deals they have.

When it comes to bringing hardware and maintaining value, AMD is clearly no.1 :)

Hi, The Vega Strix pictures also show a deal offer from a while back where you could get a copy of Far Cry 5 and some Asus surround headphones with the card, Is that deal back on?

If it is that's a great deal.

I am afraid not, bug in the system that the forum poster shows up, I shall manually delete them.

In kinda sucky situation myself, I still have my z270 board from my mining rig and want to use it for VM testing so a hyperthreaded chip, of course all intel chips are now crazy prices including used skylake, and we can see from these deals here AMD chips right now are nicely priced, but whats annoying me is I have a mental block to not buy it as I dont want to buy a new board with the chip, as I want to use the spare board I already have. :(

But AMD are in a good place right now 6 core 12 threaded chip with 3.95ghz stock clock for £140.

A good APU as well, which you can use as a workaround to enable freesync on geforce cards :D

If I was upgrading right now I wouldn't be going with Intel again.

How do the two Vega 64 's compare? Am I right in thinking the Strix had the heating issues? Ideally I'd be looking to water cool as well. The 3 year v 2 year warranty is a big swing for me as well...

get the Nitro if you do not plan to watercool. Otherwise which one is cheaper and use 3mm thermal pads.
Strix has some VRM cooling issues, and need thicker pads to fix it

Cheers @Gibbo, I haven't seen the race yet.

Really didn't expect to read about it in the graphics card section. I avoid the motors section until after I've watch the latest GP but to see it in here, well all I can say is cheers.

That Red Dragon deal is seriously tempting as it’s less than what I paid for the 480 Red Devil almost 2 years ago but had to sell up. The 2600 would be nice as that’s incredible value for money but would need to factor in RAM and mobo.

My 5870 and Phenom 1090T have done me proud so far and I really don’t spend the time that I’d like to on my PC to warrant the outlay all in one go but deals like this are very difficult to ignore, especially just after pay day :p.

Oh yes, congrats Kimi as well; from what I read it was a thoroughly deserved victory.

4 core 8 thread chip for 70 nuggets ... Whatttttt ... That's crazy . think my two girls will be getting introduced to PC gaming a little earlier . paired with a 1050ti or something they'll have a good 1080p rig .

The £68.99 Ryzen 3 chip is only 4 core 4 threads unfortunately.

Wouldn't an AMD Ryzen 3 2200g be a cheaper entry point, no need for a £150 GPU then.

Four threads you mean?
Still a great price.
Every time OCUK does deals I just see the price of my "used tat" going down :P. Two year old 6700K probably worth £50 :P

reading on a phone , squinting nae helping :P , my bad guys. dedicated still way forward personally , want to give them a good entrance for cheap rather than a decent entrance for cheaper. still no bad but lessens the longevity for them . a 100quid 1400 and im sold .

Due to the Intel shortage your 6700k is still quite valuable, you'd also be amazed at how many new 6700K processors we still sell, must be over 50 per week and you still don't get much change from £300.

I've finally bitten the bullet after months of waiting and disappointment. Asus Vega 64 Strix has been ordered. Now to source a water block...
Join us to the V64 owners discussion :D
EK has one but personally finding it expensive at €151.
From my experience (Nitro waterblock) with Bykski you should consider it as they are good quality. Even if they are missing screws.....
Also if you do not mind bad looks Alphacool Nexxxos GPX - AMD RX VEGA M06 is compatible with the Strix also, and is cheap. (£95).
