Whats the difference in the AMD steppings?

I have seen loads with different letters/numbers on them
Example: CCBWE and LDBHE and CACJB

What do all these mean and where can I get info on them? AMD aren't giving away much into on there site

do a search in the forums - theres loads of information about steppings etc.

They are batch codes which give a general indication of overclockability as well as manufacture dates.

Friend is selling the AMD X2 3800+ LDBHE 0537 stepping and I wondered if it was worth £190
