Basically he wanted the same system I bought a few weeks ago, but only wants to spend £700. I gave him a DVD drive and a Terabyte HD so what's in the link above is what he needs. Will only be for gaming. Will the parts play nice? Pure gaming PC.
No it won't. The 2nd PCI-E would only runs in x4.I'll switch the board over for the 800. I take it it does XF as well?

If you are not too fussed with USB3.0 and 6Gb/s SATAs, the board you originally chosen in your first post would do Crossfire nicely. However if want a board that has USB3.0 and 6Gb/s SATAs, as well as would do Crossfire, you would have to look at the following boards at just under £110:
Either the Asus M4A89GTD PRO AMD 890GX (currently out of stock):

Or the Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H AMD 890GX:

As for case, I would suggest go for the Zalman Z7 Plus in MonkeyKing's quote, as it is spacy and comes with 3 fans by default (front, rear, side panel), where as the Antec 300 comes with top and rear fans by default, but the front fan(s) and the side panel 120mm fans need to be bought (cheap branded ones around £6-£7 each) and added separately.
I personally would go for the reference 5850 cooler as it exhausts out the back of the case.
