Hmm I'm just thinking.

About the AMD 1055T temperatures, could AMD just be over reacting a little about the 62C mark? Just like the voltages? It says Max is 1.4 but you could tke it to 1.5 or 1.53V just fine because everyone says its still safe and AMD can always take a good beast in.

And home come Intel chips cab run upon like 85C fine while overclocking? On the i7's? If Intel can go that high, I'm sure the 1055T can as well.

At the end of the day silicone is silicone? Am I right? Lol its al the same

Anyways, now I going to see who can answer this one for me lol

Thats an interesting Question i wouldn't mind knowing the answer myself
Like you i have always wondered why AMD cpu's have a lower top end temp than Intel cpu's.
I can only assume its something to do with the differrent manufacturing process.

Intel CPU's have more accurate sensors, their latest CPU's (Core i3/5/7) also use high-k in the manufacturing which like modern GPU's allows them to operate at much higher temperatures.

I've had a couple of AMD cpu's recently and the temperature monitoring seems a bit of a joke tbh, AMD owners are best off just ignoring it as long as the CPU is stable in Prime95/Linx etc.

Why would you ever need to reach 60c+ in a regular overclock though?

My Athlon hardly ever reaches 35 and that's overclocked to 3.75ghz.

AMD CPU's can't handle 80c temps like Intels can. Intels can't handle 1.55-1.6v 24/7 like AMD's can.

That's just the way it is.

And FYI as the max temps for AMD is usually 62c as the socket temp, you can bet the core temps are about 70c.

Why bother?

I would be happier loosing a small amount of OC just to know I am not overworking my gear. I think there is a difference between a reasonable overclock and a thrashing. If you break it I can gaurantee you're not going to thrash the next one!

tbh mine runs at a very cool 70c under heavy load and its been like that for 4 years? tough little cookies AMD chips shame if i try and overclock that it will go pop quick if ur saying they can't handle 80c :<
