I pulled the trigger. couldnt wait for 5000 series so 3960x it is. I might upgrade it when 5000 series comes out.
Grats :-) The 3960x is a really nice cpu, you'll be more than happy with it. Run ctr on it when you get it, the hybrid OC works a treat :-)

well the board turned up and its a tank! Looks like ill also be able to do a TR 5000 series upgrade pretty much straight away as I have plenty of budget left for the build :D

One of my boards (Auros Master) sometimes has trouble booting up to the Bios screen, seems to get stuck and keeps going through the start-up sequence though it does always make it if I reset a couple of times. As it only gets re-booted about 2 or 3 times a year I can live with it but wouldn't want the aggro if it was happening every day. The other 2 have had no problems at all. All of them are running flat out 24/7 with no issues whilst running.

My Strix has a lengthy memory training process where it will power off a few times. I've put it down to my overlocked RAM, but it always starts up even if takes a bit too long for my liking. But like you I don't turn it off often so not a problem.

I now have 3960x and auros master, all up and running it recognised my raid arrays, booted first time. set xmp on 8x8gb 3466 cas 16 and that worked perfectly, no lengthy memory training. It just works.
