What's stopping them from releasing an exotic super-binned part with bigger bus and more VRAM? From what I understand their designs are much more scalable with more die area on the table.

There is always the 7990.

But then again it is 2 7970s slapped together. As for single cards, not sure.

Right now they have the FirePro S10000, which is which is about 35% (Single Precision) faster than the Tesla K20X (Titan)
But that's basically a dual 7950.

So they really have no need for a large DIE Accelerator part that they could turn into a GPU.

But if they wanted to make a single chip Accelerator part that's just as fest, they might just end up making a ~600mm^2 DIE.

He said no, as it would just clash anyway(sorry but Iv'e been waiting ages to do that).:D

Apparently the 8xxx series have been ready for quite a while, AMD just aren't in a rush to show. I hope we see AMD being somewhat sower but massively better value this time round. There's hardly a glut of card breaking games coming out and until the 6 months to a year into the next gen of consoles I doubt there will be much

Clash of the Titans, clever.... :)

@ LtMatt, any sign of new drivers?

Not heard anything Humbug. Eagerly awaiting those 13.3 memory management drivers like the rest. Interested to see if they actually make any difference. I'm guessing we could be in for a longer wait than anticipated.

Interesting, I wounder how the Titan will go against 7950s xfired on the benches. There may be a few websites claiming silly figures for the Titan that will have to eat animal waste.

Compute and GFX CF are two different things, AMD's GCN is insane when it come to Computing power, but not quite there in GFX, yet, or are they still holding back.....

13 < year .3 < Month, it seems thats how they work it, so thats march.

Crysis 3 is about to come out, so i'm sort of expecting new 13.2 BETA drivers ready for that.

they stopped doing guarenteed monthly updates of drivers, and said they will release one when every they like and will name it in respect to the month.

So if the new set is released now it will be 13.2.1 or something like that.

I would imagine the only thing stopping them creating something similar is the R&D cost, especially when they've been posting poor business results in the last year. It's far more important for them to get their core business stable before endulging in a project like that. Maybe Geforce Titan will give them a nudge into doing something similar and we'll start to see them pushing each other a bit more.

Nvidia have the advantage of the R&D cost being paid for by the Titan project.

The new Nvidia drivers 314 have the update for Crysis 3 and it looks like a good deal for SLI owners, so I suspect that will push AMD into releasing a driver sooner rather than later

Well C3 launches tomorrow, I thought there would have been an official driver in place(although the latest beta was a cracker in CrossFire), but something tells me the partnership arrived to late for a new release.

Hopefully I'm talking some animal waste(thanks kap;)) and matt(liked it;)) can get on the speed dial and squeeze some info from thraks.

:)

I think Thracks is fed up with me sending him messages. I even asked him if we could get our own Thracks based Thracks on ocuk forums. I didn't get a reply to that question. :D
