Lot's of threads / comments here seem to think AMD aren't launching new cards this year. For those that can read please go here http://www.pcworld.com/article/2028408/amd-to-release-new-radeon-hd-8000-graphics-cards-in-2013.html.

For those that can't, here are some highlights...

"AMD revealed today that it will be releasing new Radeon desktop GPUs "from top to bottom" in 2013"

"With sales volumes continuing to ramp, it would be premature to launch a new series,"

"We aren't afraid," says Roy Taylor, a corporate vice president and head of AMD's global channel sales. "We have new products. We have a roadmap. We are not sitting still, we do not lack resources, and we do not lack imagination. Let me be clear: The new products will be a new architecture."

When asked specifically about the Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan—a rumored top-of-the-line card based on Nvidia's powerful Tesla K20 offering , supposedly being released soon—Taylor said "We'll wait and see what Nvidia comes back with, and when it arrives we'll deal with it, but we believe we'll maintain leadership. I'm a firm believer in bringing back the old GPU wars. We're taking them on again."

You know, its funny, there are two different answers as to whether or not AMD will release the 8### line this year or next running in parallel, this one and a couple of others say yes, and this one http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18489807 plus a couple of other say no.

I think they will wait to see what happens with 7### series sales, and then act up on that.

Yeah I agree. Once the 7 series sales plateau, I think we will start getting leaked info and possibly a refresh of some 7XXX cards.. As sales taper off AMD will start launching the new 8XXX series GPU's.

Right now AMD is in a good postition, with both price and performance lead.
