Its is only benched against Llano though, will be interesting to see it against a Ivy core i3.

The results are roughly what I expected, slight improvements in processing power and a bit more on gfx.

I have not read it properly yet!

These are also only out to oems, wont be availible to purchase for some time.

Hmm..10-15% faster than Bulldozer clock for clock, that still only makes Trinity as fast as a Phenom II clock for clock, with the disadvantage of no Level 3 Cache...though i suppose the higher overclocking margin would compensate somewhat, 4.5Ghz compared to 4Ghz for the majority of Phenom II's.

As a cheap HTTC with a nice built in GPU..sure, does the job nicely..i suppose.

As a desktop replacement..no thanks.

Maybe by the time we get to Vishera in 2013, I'd consider going AMD again, but doubtful.

Bare in mind this is a Llano replacement, so it's probably been tweaked down for APUs to fit in the power package (Such as the lack of L3 cache). For laptops, this is great. Better CPU + GPU balance = great gaming budget laptop ;).

Nice to see it performs better than Bulldozer, would be interesting to see how the full blown Piledriver performs.

So Piledrivers' going to be a high clocking Phenom II X8 :p?

Bearing in mind Llano's IPC is better than Zambezi's.

It's looking like a full blown piledriver core will have pretty similar end performance to a deneb core giving those results.

From the looks of it yeah. Still best to go with Intel on the desktop side of things :p.

Supposedly,Turbo Core is also not working as well as it should due to early nature of the motherboards.

"Our power data is interesting, though I’d caution against taking it as gospel. The motherboard vendors we’ve talked to indicate that Turbo Core functionality isn’t working perfectly yet."

AMD say they've got the 5800k up to 4.8 on air, should be interesting to see what can be done once the enthusiasts get a hold of it, while it's not going to catch Ivy (or even Sandy) in all tasks with a decent clock it should be a lot closer.

I'm still looking at one of these for my new build...if I can wait.

Hope to get one, I was impressed by Llano's built-in IGP, hopefully this one impresses me too:)

Nice preview from Toms. If PD is 15-20% faster than BD then it will be something viable for people using their PCs for rendering, encoding and stuff like that.

In addition, people who bought an AM3+ motherboard and hoped that BD would be a much better that it actually was will have a reason to upgrade from their Phenom II CPUs.
