AMD Turion 64 or Intel M?

Hi guys,

Am not too hot on processors at the moment.

Am wondering what is better:

AMD Turion 64 Mobile Processor MK-36 (2.0GHz 512K)

or

Intel Pentium M 740 (1.73GHz 533MH FSB)

PS - is it worth the difference going for the:
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Processor TL-56 (1.8GHz 512K)

Any info on the above would be great.

I am not an expert in laptops but if you choose single core I think the amd Turion is better and has 64bit support. Dual cores I believe the intel is a bit faster at the same speeds but in normal use you hardly will notice the difference.

dothan core has far more power clock for clock than the hammer/sledge hammer architecture
