hey guys did you know that the Turion 64 X2 has only 256 kb+256 kb of level 2 cashe!!?
I have to buy me an laptop for my school and i allways thought i'd go for an turion, but now as i saw how little his L2 cashe is i'm not sure anymore,..i mean even an celeron has more cashe than this turion!!!
How good are turions in a laptop, with which CPU can they compare???

Centrino/Core Duo is much better.

Try to go for a Core Duo lappy....or even a core 2 duo if you can find one :)

Someone I know just bought an Asus laptop with a Turion X2 processor.

It kept overheating and crashing every few mins - needless to say it was returned within a few days. It might have been the one faulty laptop from that run, or it might have been a design fault with the specific model.

Personally I would stick with the Core/Core2 Duo laptop.

what do you think of an celeron m procesor in a laptop, cause core duo laptops cost a bit more than i'm ready to pay at this moment???
I mean i want need this laptop for any heavy duty things, just for web, word, exel, those kinda things...maybe mp3 listening if the teacher is borring!!

Celeron's lack power management, so power consumption is higher than Centrino. Go for Centro single core, should be able to get a good specced single core, 1GB RAM, 100GB HD, 15" widescreen for around £450-£550.

so acer laptops ain't bad, cause in a pc shop where i and most of my friends buy pc things i worker there told me that they did get a lot of theyer laptops back, cause they didn't work as they should??
I really like the way acers laptops look, but after he told me that i was not sure if i should get one!!
But i will now look around as you said for this series of laptops!!
Thanks!

Holy grammar batman!

There are a lot of good Centrino laptops out there for £400-£500. Centrino is a spec that dicates the laptop will have a Penium M, Intel chipset, and Intel WiFi. Centrino Duo is the same, with the Pentium M substituted for a Core Duo / Core 2 Duo.

Acer are good value (arguably the best value laptops available), although their build quality is usually slightly lower. You can get an extended 3 year warranty including accidental damage for £99 for any Acer laptop. Just get the warranty within 1 month of purchasing the laptop - or forever hold your peace ;)
