Hi guys, looking to upgrade my cousins PC
Currently:

M5A99X EVO R2.0 Mobo
AMD FX 6100
GTX 570
8GB RAM
Stock cooler
600W PSU

Parts we're thinking of buying:

16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance
Noctua NH-L9a Low Profile Quiet CPU Cooler
AMD FX 9590 Black Edition
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5 R5, AMD 990FX
GTX970 (1070's a bit pricey at the moment, on this budget)
Coursair 750D case

I think this should be a worthwhile upgrade and that should all work out fine but would appreciate any quick thoughts or advice?

Thanks in advance.

The FX-9590 is probably one of the worst cpu's you could buy. They run very hot and have no overclocking potential. That Noctua low profile cooler wouldn't be good enough to cool it.

I would suggest going with an Intel i5 6600K setup instead.

Good shout guys, so out of touch with AMD stuff but with a quick google gander I see your point!

Looks like i5 6600K may be the way forwards, even made the build a little cheaper than before.

I'll look into the 480 and release dates etc, rather not go for the reference card though.

Good choice. The non reference should be released not long after the reference so you shouldn't have to wait too long.

Depending on what your budget is something like this would be good.

The Phanteks Enthoo Pro M is a good budget case. You would just need to add the gpu of choice.

What make/model power supply does your Cousin have ?

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £473.25
(includes shipping: £12.30)

That's the exact same case I've got. I totally agree it's beent he easiest case to work with so far. It's a bit more expensie, but trust me, it's worth it!
