Amd Upgrade worth it?

I currently have a Phenom 720 Black Edition running at 3.7

Been looking at the 965 Black Edition is the really going to worth me upgrading.

Or should i just keep what ive got.

Gpu i have installed is a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5870 and 4 gig of G.Skill Ripjaw.

What are you trying to do? Gaming, encoding?

Have you tried unlocking the 720 to quad?

Mainly gaming really and gerneral stuffaswell, just wondered if i will see a big difference to be worth the extra expense.

No as yet ive not tried to unlock it.

Id stick with what you've got for now.

Well if you have a motherboard that is capable of attempting an unlock then I would definitely give it a go. You might just get an extra core for no extra money.

There is a guide here.

It is just a matter of changing a couple of mobo settings and away you go. If it does not work simply change them back and you are back to your standard 3 cores.
