Amd upgrade

I currently have a amd phenom 9850 (am2+) black edition over clocked to 3.1ghz

i am getting a amd AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 965 Black Edition 3.40GHz (Socket AM3)

Just wanted to ask a few questions.

Will it run hotter?

I tried looking this up but the test sytems on both were completly diffrent so i couldent go by the results.

Also would i really notice that much of a diffrent in my cpu benchmarks?

it is 300mghz faster and has like 8mb more cashe

they both have a TDP of 125W (if its the newer 965 version) so it shouldn't run any hotter.

phenom II run cooler and clock better then the original phenom as a rule.

should run cooler and overclock much beter, tho ur 600Mhz overlock is very good for a 9850

i have heard that from many ppl i only increased the voltage one incriment.

i just wanted to upgrade because now it seems so cheap for such a preformance gain

I would wait for the 6 core chips due soon, they are ment to be amazing! As big a leap as from ph1 to ph2, from the leaked info/bench's they ment to give simlare priced I5/I7's a run for there money and still use AM2+/AM3 slot.

Some even said this will be the new Q6600, but ill wait for official reviews to make that judgment myself

yeh my 9850 was a pain to get stable at even 2.9, but yeh as the above states wait and see the pricing of Thuban
