AMD vs INTEL

Im trying to decide what processor to buy the choices are Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 "LGA775 Conroe" 3.00GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.00GHz what are the pros and cons of each I want to use it for mostly high spec games?

Between the two you mention I would choose the E6850. But at the same price you can have the Quad core Q6600 GO ?

Ive never overclocked at all but I might look into it and I have a 19" monitor and a 640mb 8800 gts graphic card. Im also looking at one of the ROG mobo's Striker extreme for example.
