Sorry if this is a dumb question, but im wondering which cpu and boards work with which cards.
Im looking at updating everything except GPU, then doing that later when bank balance allows. If i get an AMZ board/cpu, am i better off getting an AMZ gpu? Similarly, if i go intel for mobo and cpu, does it make a difference which gpu i go for? Im assuming its less of an issue over what card to get if its an intel mobo and cpu?

There's no problems with mix and match. Nvidia GPUs work fine with AMD CPUs and AMD GPUs work fine with Intel CPUs and all other combinations work too.

Just be aware of the respective PCIe versions supported by the GPU, motherboard and CPU as things are moving to PCIe 5. But the PCIe spec is fully backwards compatible so different versions will work together, just not necessarily at the maximum possible speed (which may not be noticable in practice anyway).

There are some minor benefits (AMD SAM, etc.) from matching up AMD GPUs with AMD CPUs, nVidia's driver stack often benefits slightly from the Intel CPU architecture but the differences are largely negligible and rarely worth worrying about when speccing a system.
