I would get one this month, If I wasnt after a new router and hardrive instead. I also recon waiting until AM2 is out next week, as hopefully we might see some price drops.

I really dont think AM2 will make X2 price drops, theres still a lot of money to be had with them.

I would buy the cpu's now. In this post by gibbo he has said that price will not change and only a few skt 939 cpus will remain in production (not X2 3800+), this will probably mean these will be rare and might increase in price.

That thread sounds as if socket 939 will die pretty quickly leaving skt754 as entry level and AM2 as mainstream.

Even if prices don't officially drop, I can see lots of early adopters buying AM2 cpu's and selling their old 939 chips on the Members Market, so hopefully I will be able to find a bargain there.

0617 is very fresh silicon, I have a feeling a few of the AM2 cpus will be using this silicon as well.
If I wasn't going on Holiday next month I would have got the debit card out and bought one.
