AMD X2 3800 Temperature confusion.

Ello folks.

Last night I overclocked my AMD 64 X2 3800+ to 2.2ghz, and the temp didn't change much, according to the bios.

Anyhow, I decided to install some temperature monitoroing software, mainly Sisandra and Speedfan... and the results are alittle worrying. According to them my CPU is currently running at 62c, according to my bios its running at 31c.

Obviously with the readings in Windows being double that of the bios, im wondering if the software I'm using is reading two CPU's due to the dual-core, and thusly doubling the temperature?

I really hope it is... because an idle temp of 61c in a relatively cool computer is pretty damn bad.

According to core temp I'm on 38C and 35C idle.

Is that ok? I'm not particularly bothered about the CPU remaining frozen, I just want to know that it can survive for a half a year. ¬_¬

That's fine for an idle temp.

More importantly, what does it reach under load?

I think it's about 65-70? I'm sure that there's some more experienced peeps on here that'll know.

55c and 1.55v max on air to be safe with the dual core ones....(65-70 is ok for single cores though

)
