AMD X2 4600 Socket 939: Delayed!!

Hi there

The large quantity of X2 4600 Socket 939 CPU's we were expecting today are still in Belgium.

The distributor had not made preparations in its warehouse to cope with extra demand which resulted in none of the stock shipping last night.

I am pulling my hair out, because so many of you have ordered these and all these mistakes and delays been caused by manufacturers and distributors is giving me real stress. I literally could shoot a few people right now.

The stock is leaving Belgium with UPS now on a pre noon delivery to arrive with ourselves.

What this means is that people waiting for X2 4600's on socket 939 won't get their orders until Thursday and as the first delivery is only 100 units means only half the backorders will ship.

Were hoping to recieve a further 200 X2 4600's on Friday and fighting to find stock but the fact is AMD don't produce socket 939 processors any more and its proving difficult.

If stock situation does not improve then I forsee prices will start to increase rapidly and between both Intel and AMD they really managed to annoy me this week and upset many of our customers.

Does this mean that if you haven't already received an email advising that your order has shipped, that you won't get it until at least Thursday ? Or will some actually ship today that didn't make it in time yesterday ?

No orders will ship today as there is no stock to ship out from warehouse.

Gibbo, is this only related to 4600's and not the 3800's and 4200's ???

Correct we've cleared all backorders on those and have stock left over.

We certainly hope so.

I found some more stock today in Denmark so got all that ordered up too. Have literally emptied the UK and anywhere I found in Europe with stock.

Basically most distributors have under estimated demand but reassure myself they can get more stock for next week.

Its looking good!

Were hoping to recieve 200 units now today as we managed to take somebody elses stock so were now in the hands of couriers getting here as soon as they can.

If all these 200 arrive today then all backorders will be fulfilled then its just down to our warehouse getting all the orders out and they certainly will try their best.

We will have a few left over, but as already mentioned we do have a further 300 on order hopefully arriving this Friday too.

So, when will these be despatched Gibbo? If it will be despatched tomorrow to arrive on Friday I will need to change my delivery address. I thought they would have been at my work address by Thursday at the latest.

We are aiming to dispatch all orders today for delivery tomorrow (Thursday) !!

OK I've had a lot of emails and I am trying to get most shipped but the delivery came late so not all of them will go out tonight I am afraid, the remainding backorders will ship tomorrow for Friday.
