AMD X2 4850e release date?

Yeah, there are a lot of reviews out there for the 780G motherboard and most of them seem to recommend this as the replacement of the BE-2400 processor. It's supposed to be cheaper also from what I've seen, but I can't find a release date.

hmm interesting, was looking to build amd based htpc with 2400 that would play test drive unlimited well and this would work nicely so my girlfriend wont kick me of pc everytime she wants to play it :D

I still haven't managed to find an answer to this yet. I might go for a BE-2400 instead if it doesn't look like it will be soon. Anyone know if there is much difference between this this and the BE-2400 or is it literally just a name change and 0.2 GHz speed increase?

All Athlon X2 BE models will be replaced/renamed 4x50e and two additional models will be launched; 6250 and 6050. These are based on the much anticipated Kuma core.

Seems as though the new4x50e series will be based on the new core. or does this quote just refer to the 6250 and 6050 being based on the new core? Either way the 4x50e will no doubt use a new stepping and will be even more power efficient than their little brother (BE-2400)

I myself am also spec'ing up a HTPC and am def gonna wait for this new cpu. Seems like this new processor and the 780G mobo go together like bread and butter.

From the various articles i have read it seems as though they are due for a end of march release; but no doubt OC will get them first.... so who knows, you might see them in stock in the next week or so.

I don't know, unless I'm missing something, OCUK don't seem to stock any of the BE models at the moment.

yeah, it's an odd stance to take since these processors are very popular for HTPC and no doubt the new ones will also be very popular when they see the light of day.
